Francisco Z. Mena

Sierra Norte

In 1910 it was constituted as a free municipality with the name of Francisco Z. Mena, in honor of that distinguished General -original of León, Guanajuato- who fought against the French in three battles for national defense in Puebla: on May 5, 1862 , on March 17, 1863 and April 2, 1867.

Francisco Z. Mena is located in the Sierra Norte de Puebla. It borders to the north, east and west with the state of Veracruz; and to the south, with Pantepec and Venustiano Carranza.
