MADRID, Esp.- The state of Puebla received two awards within the activities of the 40th edition of the FITUR 2020 International Tourism Fair: at “ Best Sustainable Destination Brand” organized by the Aire Libre specialized magazine, and for the conservation of traditional poblano recipes, delivered by Excelencias Group.

Together with the Secretary of Tourism of the Federal Government, Miguel Torruco Marqués, the Secretary of Tourism, Fabiana Briseño Suárez, received the first of the previous recognitions, which was announced during the inauguration of this world meeting.

In order to obtain this award given in the 29th edition of the Aire Libre awards, which is framed in the FITUR 2020, the originality and the impact of the brand on sustainability activities within the destination were evaluated, as is the preservation of heritage by potentializing the eight declarations that the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has given to the state.

The “Puebla El Patrimonio de México brand, which is based on five pillars that are: identity, tradition, culture, heritage and people, represents an identity seal that combines the 32 regions that make up the entity, highlighting everything that makes this destination unique and unrepeatable.

The second recognition was received by Puebla in the XV edition of the Excelencias Awards, whose objective is to promote excellence in different fields related to tourism, gastronomy and culture in Latin America; 38 projects were evaluated worldwide.

The state of Puebla was recognized for the conservation of traditional poblano recipes, such as chiles en nogada, mole poblano and mole de hips, which over the years retain their essence and remain the main dishes of poblano cuisine.

In the 2020 edition of this international fair 11 thousand exhibiting companies from 160 countries and 253 thousand people participate, as well as a wide and diversified tourist offer.
