Chili season begins in nogada

CITY OF PUEBLA, Pue.- The Secretary of Tourism, Vanessa Barahona de la Rosa, in the company of the president of the National Chamber of the Restaurant Industry and Seasoned Food in Puebla (Canirac), presented the 2020 season of chiles en nogada, a Puebla tradition for Mexico and the world.

In her message, the head of the agency commented that this atypical year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, has disrupted the value chain in tourism, so that, from the Ministry in charge, they will make an effort together with the private initiative to work for the benefit of the restaurant sector.

He pointed out that, by instructions of Governor Miguel Barbosa Huerta, there will be dialogue tables to listen to the requirements of businessmen who have been affected by the health contingency.

In her speech, the president of the Canirac, Olga Méndez, announced that the opening meal will be via digital. He specified that the participating restaurants will be: La Textilería, Las Palomas, Restauro, La Noria, Palmira, La Casona de los Sapos, Entretierras, El Mural de los Poblanos, Augurio, Casa Reyna and Las Palmas.

Chiles en nogada represent one of the most important dishes not only in Puebla cuisine, but also in Mexican gastronomy, a dish that fills pride and positions Puebla worldwide.

The ceremony was also attended by the municipal Tourism Secretary, Mónica Prida.
