Advisory council presents an action plan on tourism to covid-19

  • The “ campaign Don't cancel your trip, reprogram it! ” was launched to raise awareness about the importance of tourism and its impact on the economy.
  • There will be support with incentives for conferences and conventions scheduled for the second semester of the year.

CITY OF PUEBLA, Pue.- Faced with the health contingency due to COVID-19 (coronavirus), the Secretary of Tourism, Fabiana Briseño Suárez, presented an action plan to the Advisory Council of this sector in order to maintain tourism as a factor of development in the state.

In this sense, the official explained that the agency published the campaign “ on social networks Do not cancel your trip, reprogram it! ”, to raise awareness about the importance of tourism and its impact on the economy.

Likewise, he indicated that once the contingency has ended, four actions are foreseen: to participate in the traveling fair “The Magical Towns give La Mano” to take place in the interior of the state and the central region of Mexico. Also, he said, a high impact editorial plan will be prepared, a promotional campaign in the United States of America and a national campaign for Chile in Nogada.

In addition, to avoid cancellations, there will be support with incentives for conferences and conventions scheduled for the second half of the year, and in the tourist service module (Calle 5 Oriente no. 3 Colonia Centro) there will be the presence of service providers.

“ This situation is temporary, but together we will move forward, I ask the people of Puebla and visitors not to cancel their trip, to reschedule it, since we all do tourism, ”, the secretary pointed out.

Briseño Suárez invited all the members of the Council to join forces and carry out joint work, in order to maintain a united, strong sector with clear objectives that will keep Puebla as a great tourist destination.

The meeting was attended by: Marte Luis Molina Orozco, Undersecretary of Tourism; José Luis Arellano Zuradelli, General Director of Tourism Promotion; Fabián Valdivia Pérez, General Director of Tourism Planning and Development; Mónica Prida Coppe, Secretary of Municipal Tourism.

In addition to Manuel Domínguez Gabián, president of the Association of Hotels and Motels; Javier Domínguez Velázquez, from the National Land Transport Agency (ANTT); Angélica Maya Hernández, from Treasures of Mexico, and Abigaíl Cortés, president of Tourist Guides.

The Tourism Advisory Council was carried out with the preventive and sanitary measures established by the federal Ministry of Health such as: respect the number of attendees and the distance between each participant, do not wave or kiss and use antibacterial gel.
