Sale of food and beverages, essential for the economy during the health contingency

• The Ministry of Tourism urges to respect the security and protection measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19

CITY OF PUEBLA, Pue.- The Ministry of Tourism calls on businesses, service providers and restaurants, whose offer is covered by the federal agreement establishing actions to address the health contingency by COVID-19, to operate taking into account the measures of security and protection to prevent the spread of this virus.

According to these extraordinary federal actions to address the health contingency, published this Tuesday in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF), they are considered essential for the operation of the economy, the food and beverage industry.

In the first article, section II, subsection “C”, it is established that the fundamental sectors are: food markets, supermarkets, self-service stores, groceries and the sale of prepared foods; as well as passenger transport services.

In this sense, the Government of Puebla, through the Ministry of Tourism, reiterates its call to these establishments to operate taking into account security and protection measures, with the aim of stopping the spread of COVID-19.

The agency recommends undertaking a scheme for selling food at home, which would generate financial support for the food industry, product sales and job creation.

In this sense, for service providers who are dedicated to passenger transport, it is essential to follow safety protocols, healthy distance and special cleaning processes for the units.
